2nd phase of ESES launched in Science, Commerce colleges

JAMMU, Jan 30: Higher Education Department today launched 2nd phase of its Employment and Skill Enhancement Scheme (ESES) for students in Government Gandhi Memorial (GGM) Science College and SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu.
The scheme was launched under the chairmanship of Secretary Higher Education, Talat Parvez Rohella with Government College of Engineering & Technology (GCET) as Nodal hub for the Program.
Employment and Skill Enhancement Scheme consists of 2 programs –Induction Program (SELP) and Employment Skill Training for Students. Principal GCET Sameru Sharma was instrumental in organizing the scheme in all 5 colleges of Cluster University of Jammu along with a team of comprising Dr Anita Brar as Nodal SELP who is also Coordinator, Induction Program from GCET and Dr Simmi Dutta Nodal PEP.
In the Phase 2, Dr Anita Brar inaugurated Student Excellence and Learning Program (SELP) of Art of Living under Induction Programme as constituent of Employment and Skill Enhancement Scheme with inaugural speech along with senior faculty of Art of Living (AoL) Rohit Ranjan and Varun Upadhay.
GGM Science College Jammu started SELP of AoL under Principal Dr Kaushal Samotra along with Prof Anil Verma – Coordinator Induction Progamme and her team of senior faculty members. Rohit Ranjan and Akshita Sharma were faculty from AoL Banglore who took SELP session today in GGM Science College Jammu.
In SPMR Commerce, Dr R S Jamwal took a lead in starting SELP with Dr Archana Kaul Coordinator, Induction Programme along with her team of faculty members. Varun Upadhay was senior faculty from AoL Banglore. He was assisted by Dr Navneet.
Ajay Kapoor, Aol J&K Coordinator for Bureau of communications, DDC and SSRDP-Government projects said that the aim of SELP is to boost confidence of students, enhance creativity, regulate time management, and develop their interpersonal relationships and leadership skill. He said the faculty from AoL Bangalore will discuss and give them demonstration on breathing techniques and activities, helping them in improving their concentration and clarity of mind.
“AoL faculty will also deliver lectures and interact with students to explore their academics interests and motivate them to work for excellence, promote bonding among themselves and build character to meet the future challenges of life,” he added.
