State Prominent citizen Satuo Kuotsu passes awayDIMAPUR, JAN 28 (NPN) | Publish Date: 1/28/2020 12:30:44 PM ISTProminent senior citizen and renowned sportsman, businessman and philanthropist of Kohima village, Satuo Kuotsu passed away on January 28 after a brief ailment. He was 85 and leaves behind his wife, seven sons, four daughters, 34 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Born on July 19, 1934, late Kuotsu did his early education from Baptist English School, Kohima.
Besides being an ardent Naga wrestler from an early age, late Kuotsu was also businessman, social worker and a contractor. He was also a member of the Kohima Town Committee and president of Kohima Chamber of Commerce, patron of India Red Cross Society, Nagaland branch; treasurer Nagaland Olympic Association and life member of National Rifle Association of India.
Late Kuotsu was the wrestling champion of KVSA meet in 1954, 1956, 1958 and 1959. He also served as presidents of Naga Club, Nagaland Wrestling Association and Angami wrestling association.
He served as member of Tenyimi central union (Nagaland, Manipur and Assam) and played a key role as TCU jury board in solving the longstanding issue of the nomenclature of Kidima.
He is also a recipient of distinguished Senior Citizen Award and conferred with ‘Patriarch” of the Tenyimi community.
